Zardari to contest elections from Nawabshah

Published on: January 12, 2018 7:03 PM

LAHORE: Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Co-chairperson Asif Ali Zardari has announced that he would contest upcoming general elections from the National Assembly’s constituency 213 Nawabshah, a district of Sindh.

The constituencies of Nawabshah, NA-213 and NA-214, are considered as PPP strongholds. In the 2013 general elections, the party got a significant victory in both constituencies.

Zardari announced his decision of contesting elections from the district during a meeting with party workers at Peoples Secretariat on Friday. He urged the workers to expedite the election campaign.

At this occasion, he also said that Bilawal Bhutto Zardari would be the next prime minister of Pakistan.

He promised that the PPP government provide job opportunities and Sindh would have the highest rate of employment.

Zardari’s decision came a day after he addressed a public gathering in the district.
