All the way from protesting against sexual harassment, rallying against religious freedom to fighting against terrorism, transgenders in Pakistan are truly battling for their rights and lives. Forever being compromised as individuals in the society and always subjected to discrimination, they continue to face violence on an everyday basis. They are even slaughtered in the name of their gender. #ChangeTheClap It's time we change ridicule into applause. #ChangeTheClap Posted by Asia Pacific Transgender Network on Saturday, December 9, 2017 Various Pakistani stars are now beginning to show solidarity and support to the trans community. Hand in hand with Asia Pacific Transgender Network’s campaign, they have all finally come together in solidarity to create a remarkable difference. In a moving video message, Osman Khalid Butt displayed his love and affection towards the transgender community in the nation in a truly touching way. I grew up in a society where the very term ‘hijra’ was (and still is) used mockingly to question masculinity; where the transgender community was seen as freaks of nature: to be indulged for a quick, nasty laugh; paraded, perhaps at weddings for entertainment.. but never respected.. never seen as human. No. This cannot continue. It’s time we change ridicule into applause. It’s time we show the transgender community they are not children of a lesser God. Change your mindset. #ChangeTheClap #SupportTransgenderRights https://www.facebook.com/WeAreAPTN/videos/1993826854169286/ A post shared by Osman Khalid Butt (@aclockworkobi) on Dec 11, 2017 at 1:53pm PST Juggan Kazim joined him in the revolutionary promotion of the thought-provoking idea. Have a close look at the gestures. What might look like a small change in behaviour to you would mean the world to the transgender community #ChangeTheClap pic.twitter.com/syAW2agABD — Juggun Kazim (@JuggunKazim) December 10, 2017 Stars that followed her were Ayesha Omar and Ahmed Ali Butt in their high-spirited applause for transgender people. Change the way you deal with transgender people on a daily basis. Change the way you laugh or snigger at them on the roads. Change the way you think #ChangeTheClap #ayeshaomar A post shared by Ayesha Omar (@ayesha.m.omar) on Dec 10, 2017 at 10:07am PST A clap to seek forgiveness, appreciate and applaud the transgender community for simply being themselves.
