LAHORE: Civil society and activists gathered in front of Lahore Press Club on Monday to protest against the disappearance of peace activist Raza Khan. The protesters said that after multiple meetings with the police, they were sure that Raza’s case was that of enforced disappearance. Raza’s family members and colleagues said that they could not comprehend why the state would break its own laws and trample a citizen’s rights which Article 4, 9 and 10 of the Constitution protects. His brother Hamid Nasir also filed a habeas corpus in Lahore High Court (LHC) so that Raza could be brought out of disappearance and presented before the court for legal proceedings if he went broke the law. The protesters also said that they were concerned about Raza’s safety and demanded his safe return so that he could continue his work for peace.
