FATA Secretariat orders students to get domiciles

Published on: December 9, 2017 3:17 AM

KHYBER AGENCY: Political administration of Landi Kotal has asked headmasters and principals of government-run schools to make domiciles of every local student studying in their institutions, from grade 1 to 10.

In this connection, a meeting of school headmasters and head teachers was convened at Jirga Hall, Landi Kotal that was also attended by a large number of tribal elders.

Landi Kotal Assistant Political Agent (APA) Niaz Muhammad, who presided the gathering, said that on the strict direction of additional chief secretary (ASC), the new rule had been introduced at educational institutions.

He said a three-day deadline had been set by officials for the purpose. He said the FATA secretariat will provide required domicile forms to every school. He said Afghan refugees would be exempt from the process.

The APA urged tribal elders to extend their full support to staff members of schools regarding the verification process.

According to parents, the newly enforced rule had added to the miseries of local tribesmen and said it would put extra financial burden on them.

They suggested that the administration should provide free facilities to make the process easier.
