KDA launches  restoration efforts after heavy rains cut off Kaghan link roads

Published on: July 21, 2026 2:31 AM

The Kaghan Development Authority (KDA) Monday has launched emergency restoration work to reopen link roads in Kaghan after torrential rains triggered a severe surge in the Kaghan River, disrupting transportation and affecting local communities.
According to officials, the heavy downpour caused several link roads in the tourist destination to become blocked, creating serious difficulties for residents in commuting and accessing essential services. On the directives of KDA Director General Rahmat Ali, the authority’s Engineering Wing has mobilized heavy machinery and deployed teams to the affected areas.  Restoration work is underway on an emergency basis, with crews removing debris and clearing blocked routes to restore traffic as quickly as possible. The KDA said every effort is being made to reopen the damaged link roads at the earliest to minimize inconvenience for the local population and ensure safe movement in the area.
Meanwhile, the authority has advised residents and tourists to avoid unnecessary travel during ongoing rainfall, adopt precautionary measures, and strictly follow safety instructions and advisories issued by the local administration.
