An enrichment plan is being implemented at Lahore Zoo to improve the health, welfare and natural lifestyle of wild animals and birds.
According to the Wildlife Department, jaguars, parrots and other wild animals are being provided with activities, environment and food according to their natural behaviors so that they can remain more active and healthy. The administration said that keeping animals mentally busy under the enrichment plan significantly reduces their risk of mental stress, boredom and various diseases, while also improving their overall well-being.
According to the Wildlife Department, this project is not limited to Lahore Zoo but is also being implemented in all wildlife parks and zoos in Punjab in a phased manner.
