The United States has announced the start of implementation of understandings reached between Lebanon and Israel, with pilot security zones established in southern Lebanon. The move aims to reduce tensions and improve security conditions in the region.
According to the US State Department, security zones have become operational in Froun, Srifa, and Zawtar al-Gharbiya. The zones are designed to stabilize local security conditions and support confidence-building between the two sides.

US officials said the pilot zones were created under the framework agreed between Lebanon and Israel. They added that the model could be expanded to other areas after reviewing the results of the initial phase.

The establishment of the security zones follows agreements aimed at reducing tensions along the Lebanon-Israel border. The initiative focuses on creating a security arrangement while supporting gradual de-escalation efforts.
