Pakistan played key role in regional peace efforts: Shehbaz

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif said Pakistan played an important role in promoting regional peace and stability. He highlighted the country’s mediation efforts between Iran and the United States, saying they supported broader peace efforts.

Addressing the Pak-China Pharmaceutical B2B Investment Conference in Islamabad, the prime minister said recent regional crises affected both the region and the world. He added that Pakistan’s role in the reconciliation process would be remembered.

Shehbaz Sharif described China as a reliable and sincere friend of Pakistan. He said agreements worth more than $440 million in the health sector marked progress under economic cooperation initiatives.

The prime minister said the recent pharmaceutical investment agreements represented another step toward strengthening CPEC Phase Two. He also stated that the security of Chinese citizens in Pakistan remained a government priority.

Meanwhile, Chinese Ambassador Jiang Zaidong said Pakistan’s economy was improving under Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s leadership. He added that China would continue supporting peace and stability in the region.

Federal Health Minister Mustafa Kamal said the government was working as a team under the prime minister’s guidance. He described the business conference as part of the government’s vision for development.

Additionally, Prime Minister’s Special Assistant Haroon Akhtar said the recent visit to China opened new opportunities. He highlighted investment, technology transfer, and industrial cooperation as key outcomes of the visit.
