The Government of Sindh has decided to fully digitalise the student enrollment system across all public and government-supported schools. Under the new initiative, every student will be assigned a unique admission identification linked with their NADRA-issued B-Form, establishing a transparent, reliable and integrated digital education record. Sindh Minister for Education Syed Sardar Ali Shah announced the initiative while chairing a high-level meeting with senior officials of the National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) in Karachi. The meeting was attended by NADRA Director General Aamir Ali Khan, Director Administration Colonel Rao Rizwan, Director Operations Maqsood Jhandani, and senior officials of the School Education Department.
The meeting reviewed the proposed digital student enrollment system, integration of education data with NADRA, development of a unique student identification mechanism, and the roadmap for its province-wide implementation. The meeting was informed that digital enrollment registration is already operational in 600 schools under the SELECT Project through the Student Attendance Monitoring and Redressal System (SAMRS). The system will now be expanded in phases to all public and government-supported schools across Sindh. Speaking on the occasion, Education Minister Syed Sardar Ali Shah said the Sindh Government is committed to leveraging technology to modernise the education system and ensure accurate, transparent and credible student records. He said that every student would receive a unique digital identity linked to their verified NADRA B-Form, enabling enrollment records, attendance, academic performance, examination history and school transfers to be maintained under a single digital profile throughout the student’s educational journey.
The Minister further said the government has already completed work on digital attendance systems for both teachers and students, which have been successfully implemented in several schools. The verified B-Form number of every student will be digitally recorded and integrated with the SAMRS attendance monitoring system. He noted that the NADRA-linked digital enrollment system would help eliminate fake and duplicate admissions while enabling education authorities to identify students who remain absent for extended periods or are at risk of dropping out.
