The Panthers selected Grier in the third round of the 2019 NFL Draft after his successful college career with the West Virginia Mountaineers and the Florida Gators. During his brief NFL playing career, he appeared in two regular-season games, recording 228 passing yards and four interceptions while also spending time with several other teams.
Meanwhile, Grier’s retirement leaves the Panthers with Bryce Young, Kenny Pickett, and Haynes King as the team’s remaining quarterbacks heading into training camp. Carolina is scheduled to begin its preseason campaign against the Arizona Cardinals on August 6 as preparations continue for the upcoming NFL season.
