Pervaiz Elahi wins two-month case adjournment

FIA Special Central Court in Lahore has adjourned the hearing of suspicious bank transactions and money laundering case against former Punjab Chief Minister Chaudhry Pervez Elahi till September 15.

During the proceedings on Wednesday, lawyers for Pervaiz Elahi filed a petition for exemption from one-day court attendance by the former CM due to illness and the court accepting the application adjourned the hearing till September 15.

The FIA has filed suspicious bank transactions and money laundering case against Pervaiz Elahi and Moonis Elahi. Special Central Court Judge Ashfaq Ahmed conducted the hearing today. Pervaiz Elahi did not appear due to illness.

The court sought further arguments on Pervaiz Elahi’s acquittal petition on next hearing, ordering the former CM to be present in court then.
