KP increases House Requisition Allowance for secretariat employees

Published on: July 15, 2026 11:55 AM

The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has approved a significant increase in the House Requisition Allowance for employees serving in the Civil Secretariat, Chief Minister’s Secretariat and Governor’s Secretariat across grades BPS-03 to BPS-22.

According to a notification issued by the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Finance Department, the revised allowance was approved during a special meeting of the provincial cabinet held on June 19, 2026. The enhanced rates came into effect from July 1, 2026, and will be paid to eligible employees in the three provincial secretariats.

Under the revised structure, employees in BPS-03 to BPS-06 will receive Rs6,000 per month, while those in BPS-07 to BPS-10 will receive Rs9,000. Employees in BPS-11 to BPS-13 will be paid Rs13,000, followed by Rs16,000 for BPS-14 to BPS-15 and Rs18,000 for BPS-16.

The allowance has also been increased to Rs21,000 for employees in BPS-17 and BPS-18, Rs28,000 for BPS-19, Rs35,000 for BPS-20, Rs42,000 for BPS-21, and Rs52,000 for officers in BPS-22.

The Finance Department has directed all relevant departments to implement the revised rates in accordance with the provincial cabinet’s approval.

The decision is aimed at providing greater financial support to government employees working in key provincial institutions amid rising living expenses.

Earlier, the Supreme Court of Pakistan also approved a 100 per cent increase in utility allowance for its employees, effective from July 1, 2026. Under the revised structure, employees in Grades 1 to 6 will receive Rs12,000 per month, while those in Grades 7 to 10 and Grades 11 to 15 will receive Rs16,000 and Rs20,000, respectively, reflecting broader efforts to improve employee welfare in the public sector.
