UMT earns global recognition among world’s leading universities

Published on: June 23, 2026 10:27 AM

The University of Management and Technology (UMT) has achieved another significant international milestone by securing its place among the world’s distinguished universities for the second consecutive year in the QS World University Rankings 2027. UMT has been placed in the 1201-1400 band, while only 18 universities from Pakistan succeeded in earning a place in this prestigious global ranking.

Expressing his delight over the achievement, Chairman and President UMT, Ibrahim Hasan Murad, congratulated the faculty members, students, researchers, administration and all stakeholders. He stated that UMT’s continued presence among the world’s leading universities is a matter of pride not only for the institution but also for Pakistan.

He said that UMT’s inclusion in the QS World University Rankings is a global acknowledgment of the university’s academic excellence, modern campus infrastructure, quality facilities, experienced faculty and growing research capabilities. According to him, the achievement reflects UMT’s unwavering commitment to providing world-class education and promoting a culture of innovation and research.

Ibrahim Murad emphasized that UMT is playing a significant role in advancing quality education, research, innovation and societal development. He noted that the university’s consistent appearance in internationally recognized rankings demonstrates its dedication to maintaining high academic standards and creating a learning environment that meets global benchmarks.

Murad further stated that UMT’s growing international recognition will open new avenues for students, faculty members and researchers in the areas of academic collaboration, research partnerships and international exchange opportunities. He added that this achievement also reflects the increasing global acceptance and credibility of Pakistani universities and will further strengthen the country’s higher education profile worldwide.

The Chairman remarked that UMT is among Pakistan’s leading private, not-for-profit universities and remains committed to contributing to national development through quality education, cutting-edge research, innovation and stronger industry linkages. He reaffirmed that the university will continue striving for greater excellence and international collaborations to further enhance Pakistan’s presence on the global academic landscape.
