Kundi vows protection of minority rights

Governor Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Faisal Karim Kundi on Friday reaffirmed the government’s commitment to protecting the rights, lives, and dignity of minority communities. A delegation of minority members of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly, led by Baba Gopal Singh, Bahari Lal, Suresh Kumar, and Askar Parvez, called on Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Governor Faisal Karim Kundi at the Governor’s House. The delegation expressed gratitude to the Governor for his proactive role in the recent double murder incident at a gurdwara in Mardan’s Babu Mohalla area, where the caretaker of the gurdwara and his wife were killed. They described his efforts as supportive of minority rights. The delegation informed the Governor that the main accused in the case, a police official, had been arrested and stressed the need to ensure that he is brought to justice without delay. Speaking on the occasion, Governor Faisal Karim Kundi said that the minority community has always played a vital role in strengthening Pakistan and reaffirmed that the protection of their lives, property, dignity, and rights is the responsibility of the state. He emphasized the need to eliminate extremism from society, saying that no leniency would be shown to those who damage the image of Islam, Pakistan, or government institutions.
