The Balochistan provincial cabinet, chaired by Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti, has unanimously approved the proposed budget documents for the upcoming fiscal year 2026-27. The decision came during a high-level meeting attended by provincial ministers, the Chief Secretary, administrative secretaries, and senior officials. The cabinet was briefed on the budget’s key features, including development priorities, fiscal discipline, revenue generation, and welfare initiatives. The total budget outlay for the year has been set at Rs. 1089 billion, with Rs. 797 billion allocated for non-development expenditures and Rs 206 billion earmarked for the Provincial Public Sector Development Program (PSDP). Of the PSDP allocation, Rs. 106 billion will fund new development schemes, while Rs. 100 billion has been reserved for the completion of ongoing projects. In addition, Rs. 45 billion from federally funded projects and Rs. 40 billion under foreign project assistance will supplement provincial development efforts. These resources are expected to strengthen infrastructure, education, healthcare, water supply, communications, agriculture, and energy sectors.
