
Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz President Nawaz Sharif has urged Kashmiri citizens to remain peaceful and resolve issues through dialogue, calling for an end to protests and sit-ins in Azad Jammu and Kashmir. His remarks came during a high-level meeting on the political and administrative situation in the region.
Nawaz Sharif said Kashmir remains a core national issue and reiterated that his party maintains a clear stance on the right to self-determination for the people of Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir under United Nations resolutions. He also said the development and rights of the people of Azad Kashmir remain a priority for the party.
During the meeting, he expressed concern over the prevailing situation and said such conditions should not have arisen. He emphasized that citizens must pursue their demands within constitutional boundaries and through peaceful democratic means.
The PML-N leader urged Kashmiri citizens to maintain their ideological and emotional connection with Pakistan while avoiding unrest. He called for ending protests and initiating meaningful negotiations to resolve grievances through dialogue.
He further said all political and democratic forces should work together to restore peace and stability in the region. Nawaz also expressed hope that the governments of Pakistan and Azad Kashmir, along with political parties, would play their role in ensuring long-term stability and harmony.
