The Balochistan government has presented a provincial budget worth Rs1,089 billion for the upcoming fiscal year. The budget includes allocations for development projects, public services, and administrative expenditures. Officials say the plan aims to improve infrastructure, expand services, and strengthen economic stability in the province.
Finance Minister Mir Shoaib Nosherwani presented the budget in the provincial assembly and highlighted progress in budget utilization during the previous fiscal year. He said the government achieved 115 percent utilization of allocated funds. He also noted that thousands of ongoing and new development schemes are expected to be completed in the current financial cycle.
The total expenditure for the next fiscal year is estimated at Rs1,089 billion, while the province’s revenue stood at Rs886 billion in the current year. The non-development budget is set at Rs797 billion, while the total development budget has been allocated Rs206 billion. Officials said the financial plan reflects efforts to maintain a surplus position.
For development schemes, Rs106 billion has been allocated for new projects, while Rs100 billion is reserved for ongoing schemes. Additional funding includes federal development grants and foreign project assistance to support infrastructure expansion and public service delivery across the province.
The budget also prioritizes education, health, agriculture, and energy sectors. Officials announced funding for solarisation of tube wells, expansion of youth employment opportunities, and establishment of financial and aviation institutions. The government also plans to create 5,000 new jobs across multiple departments, including education and health.
In addition, allocations were made for communication, local government, transport, and law and order departments. The finance minister said efforts are underway to increase provincial revenue to Rs170 billion through improved collection systems and economic reforms.
