Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Muhammad Ishaq Dar, accompanied by Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb, met with the senior leadership of the Pakistan Peoples Party as part of the routine pre-budget consultation process regarding the upcoming federal budget.
According to a statement issued by the Deputy Prime Minister’s Office on Wednesday, the meeting discussed current and development expenditure priorities, particularly the Public Sector Development Programme (PSDP), as well as broader economic priorities including fiscal stability, public welfare initiatives, development projects, and comprehensive and inclusive economic growth for the fiscal year 2026-27.
The participants unanimously decided to recommend to Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif that the budget for fiscal year 2026-27 be presented on **Wednesday, June 10, 2026**.
Those attending the meeting included Syed Murad Ali Shah, Member of the National Assembly Syed Naveed Qamar, Senator Sherry Rehman, Senator Saleem Mandviwalla, Sindh Irrigation Minister Jam Khan Shoro, Minister of State for Finance and Railways Bilal Azhar Kayani, Special Assistant to the Prime Minister Tariq Bajwa, Finance Secretary Imdadullah Bosal, Chairman of the Federal Board of Revenue, Rashid Mahmood Langrial, and other senior officials from relevant ministries and departments.
