Final outlines of Punjab budget for financial year 2026-27 prepared

The Punjab government has entered the final stage of preparations for the budget for the financial year 2026-27, while many development schemes are being given importance in the upcoming budget. In addition to urban areas, rural areas are also being given full attention in the upcoming budget. In this regard, special attention is being given to the sectors of development, infrastructure, digital Punjab and public relief. According to official sources, the total budget of Punjab may be close to Rs 6 trillion, in which development programs are being given extraordinary importance. According to sources, the Punjab government has initially prepared an outline of a development budget of about Rs 1450 billion and if the Punjab government has an increase in resources, this volume can go up to Rs 1500 billion. According to the proposals of the Planning and Development Board, Rs980 billion will be allocated for basic development programs, Rs320 billion for other development schemes, and Rs150 billion for projects funded by foreign assistance.
