Jacob Elordi has revealed that a real snake made his death sequence in Euphoria season 3 unusually intense, as he described the experience as both alarming and unexpectedly calm. The actor said the coffin shoot felt claustrophobic and emotionally heavy while filming his character Nate Jacobs’ final moments. He explained that working with a live animal added an unpredictable layer to the already dark and tense scene.
Elordi said the production team used a real boa constrictor fitted with a fake rattler to create the snake death sequence for the episode. He recalled that the director instructed the crew to carefully place the snake inside the confined set, which immediately increased tension on set. As filming began, he found himself lying inside a tight coffin space where movement was extremely limited and the atmosphere became increasingly intense.

Furthermore, the actor explained that the coffin lid was physically drilled shut during filming, making the environment completely dark and highly restrictive. He noted that his shoulders were pressed against the narrow space, and he could not move his arms while cameras recorded the scene. Despite the discomfort, Elordi admitted that the silence and isolation inside the coffin also created an unexpected sense of calm during long shooting takes.
Interestingly, Elordi revealed that the snake appeared calmer than expected and even behaved in a relaxed manner during the shoot. He described the reptile as “super cute” and “real cuddly,” saying it often stayed close to him without aggressive movement. However, he also mentioned that he occasionally had to gently nudge the snake to guide its position for camera framing during the tightly controlled production setup.

Meanwhile, series creator Sam Levinson praised Elordi for fully committing to the demanding and unusual filming conditions involving a live animal. The actor said the scene marked a fitting conclusion for his character Nate Jacobs, who has been part of the series since 2019. He reflected that the storyline closure aligned with Nate’s long history of dark decisions and emotional complexity throughout the show.
The upcoming Euphoria season 3 finale is scheduled to air on Sunday, May 31, and fans are anticipating the conclusion of several major story arcs. Viewers are expecting a dramatic end to Nate’s storyline following the intense coffin sequence and snake confrontation. The episode is set to close another chapter in the series, which continues to attract global attention for its bold storytelling and emotional depth.
