The Capital Development Authority (CDA) has fixed charges at Rs 3,000 for small animals and Rs 4,000 for large animals at the sacrificial cattle markets established across the city, ahead of Eid-ul-Azha.
The charges were disclosed during a visit by CDA Chairman and Chief Commissioner Islamabad Sohail Ashraf to the sacrificial cattle market here Monday to review arrangements. He was accompanied by Deputy Commissioner Islamabad Irfan Nawaz Memon, Metropolitan Corporation Islamabad (MCI) Chief Officer Dr Anam Fatima and other officials.
During the briefing, the officials informed the chairman that several measures had been taken to facilitate citizens, buyers and traders visiting the market in connection with Eid preparations.
According to the officials, uninterrupted provision of clean drinking water is being ensured at the market, while lighting arrangements, restroom facilities and free parking have also been made available.
The administration said that special arrangements had been put in place to maintain cleanliness, security and order at the site during the cattle trading period.
The officials also informed the chairman that a help desk and helpline had been established by the CDA and MCI administration to address public concerns. The citizens would be able to lodge complaints regarding sanitation, drinking water, restroom facilities and other civic issues through the helpline service, they told.
The Chairman CDA directed the officials to ensure prompt resolution of complaints received from visitors and traders and instructed the departments concerned to further strengthen security and operational arrangements at the market. Expressing satisfaction over the preparations, the CDA Chairman said that steps had been taken to facilitate residents and traders at sacrificial cattle markets.
