Sindh issues Eidul Azha holiday notification

Published on: May 22, 2026 8:50 PM

The Sindh government has announced four public holidays on the occasion of Eidul Azha and issued an official notification. The holidays will be observed from May 26 to May 29, according to the provincial government’s announcement. The decision aims to facilitate citizens during the religious festival.

The notification confirms that all government offices in Sindh will remain closed during the four-day period. Public institutions are expected to resume routine operations after the holiday break. Authorities said the arrangement is part of the annual Eid schedule.

Meanwhile, the federal government has also announced Eidul Azha holidays for the same period. The national holiday schedule aligns with the provincial decision to ensure uniform observance across the country. Citizens are expected to travel to their hometowns ahead of the festivities.

Eidul Azha is one of the most significant religious festivals in Pakistan. It is marked by animal sacrifice, family gatherings, and charitable distribution of meat. Public holidays allow people to participate in religious and social activities without disruption.
