The Higher Education Department clarified that four-year degree programs would continue without interruption during the vacations. Authorities stated that routine academic activities for these programs would proceed according to institutional schedules. In addition, examinations would continue as planned despite the summer closure announcement. Colleges will therefore maintain examination arrangements during the holiday period.
Meanwhile, students welcomed the announcement as temperatures continue increasing across several cities in Punjab. Many educational institutions had already adjusted timings because of the ongoing heatwave conditions in the province. Additionally, parents and teachers supported the decision, considering student health and safety concerns during extreme weather conditions.
