
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif will begin a four-day official visit to China on May 23. The visit aims to strengthen economic, political, and strategic cooperation between both countries. The talks will directly impact trade, investment, and future development under the CPEC framework.
The Foreign Office said the visit holds special importance as Pakistan and China celebrate 75 years of diplomatic relations. During the visit, PM Shehbaz will hold high-level talks with President Xi Jinping and Premier Li Qiang. Both sides will discuss trade, investment, industrial cooperation, and regional strategic coordination.

Officials said the discussions will mainly focus on the high-quality development of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor. The agenda also includes agriculture modernisation, information technology, science and technology, and people-to-people exchanges. Pakistan hopes to attract more Chinese investment in key sectors through expanded cooperation.

PM Shehbaz will begin his engagements in Hangzhou, Zhejiang Province, where he will chair the Pakistan-China B2B Investment Conference. The conference will focus on IT, telecom, battery energy storage systems, and agriculture. Business leaders from both countries are expected to attend the event.

In Beijing, the prime minister will attend a reception marking 75 years of diplomatic ties between Pakistan and China. The event will be hosted by the Chinese People’s Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries. Officials expect the visit to deepen political trust and strengthen the longstanding strategic partnership between both nations.
