Arsenal players celebrate winning the Premier League after watching Bournemouth v Man City at their London Colney training centre

Arsenal F.C. have been crowned Premier League champions for the first time in 22 years after Manchester City F.C. were held to a 1-1 draw by AFC Bournemouth on Tuesday.

The result confirmed Arsenal’s place at the top of the table and ended the club’s long wait for a league title since their famous unbeaten “Invincibles” season in 2003/04.

Managed by Mikel Arteta, Arsenal had finished runners-up in each of the previous three campaigns but showed consistency and resilience throughout this season. Their title challenge briefly appeared in danger after a defeat to Manchester City in April, but the North London side recovered strongly during the final weeks of the campaign.

The triumph also ends a six-year trophy drought and marks Arteta’s second major title since becoming Arsenal manager.

Midfielder Declan Rice celebrated the achievement on social media by posting a photo with teammates and declaring the title race finished. Former Arsenal manager Arsène Wenger, who led the club to its previous Premier League crown, also congratulated the team in a message shared through the club’s official channels.

Former striker Alan Smith praised Arsenal’s defensive strength and mental determination after several seasons of narrowly missing out on the title.

Attention will now shift to European competition as Arsenal prepare for the UEFA Champions League final later this month. The English champions are set to face Paris Saint-Germain F.C. in Budapest on May 30.

Victory in the final would give Arsenal their first-ever UEFA Champions League trophy and complete a historic season for the club.
