Chairman Capital Development Authority (CDA) Sohail Ashraf and Ambassador of Uzbekistan to Pakistan Alisher Tukhtayev on Friday discussed measures to further strengthen bilateral relations and expand cooperation at the city level.
During the meeting, matters of mutual interest, including beautification projects and enhanced collaboration between Islamabad and Uzbek cities, came under discussion.
Chairman CDA said Pakistan highly valued its brotherly relations with Uzbekistan and desired to further enhance cooperation in various sectors, particularly urban development and beautification of Islamabad.
The Uzbek ambassador said Pakistan and Uzbekistan shared longstanding cultural, historical and brotherly ties, while appreciating the beauty and greenery of the federal capital.
The ambassador informed the meeting that formal work had begun on the establishment of Babar Park on Faisal Avenue, describing it as a gift from the Government of Uzbekistan to the people of Pakistan.
