No targeted deportations in UAE: Pakistan

Published on: May 8, 2026 9:11 PM

Pakistan’s Interior Ministry has rejected social media reports claiming that the United Arab Emirates is running a targeted deportation campaign against specific nationalities or sects. Officials termed the circulating claims as false and urged the public to avoid spreading unverified information.

The ministry clarified that deportations from the UAE occur strictly due to violations of local laws. It said actions such as visa breaches or illegal documentation are the main reasons behind expulsions. Officials emphasized that there is no country- or sect-based policy involved.

According to the statement, Pakistani citizens continue to obtain work visas and employment opportunities in the UAE and other friendly countries. The ministry said bilateral relations remain strong and regular diplomatic channels are used to address overseas issues.

Authorities added that cases involving Pakistani nationals abroad are handled on an individual basis. They said each matter is reviewed separately in coordination with the concerned foreign governments. The approach ensures proper legal and diplomatic handling of such issues.
