Marka-e-Haq: Pakistan wins both war and narrative

Published on: May 4, 2026 1:10 AM

In Marka-e-Haq, Pakistan’s success was not confined to the battlefield alone. While its armed forces demonstrated professionalism and strategic strength, another crucial front quietly shaped global perceptions, the media. This parallel victory in the realm of information and narrative building played a decisive role in presenting Pakistan’s image to the world as credible, responsible, and grounded in facts.

Modern conflicts are no longer fought solely with weapons but they are also equally contested through information, perception, and credibility. In this context, Pakistan’s performance during Marka-e-Haq stood out as a comprehensive success. Alongside military achievements, the country effectively managed the information warfare domain, where truth, timing, and trust define victory. Pakistani media, in particular, emerged as a key pillar in shaping international opinion by ensuring that the global audience received a clear and accurate picture of events.

Senior journalist Farhan Marghani, former editor of Nawa-i-Waqt, observed that Pakistani media upheld a high standard of professionalism during the conflict. He observed that the coverage remained balanced and responsible, presenting facts to the world as they were, without exaggeration or distortion. In his view, this approach helped Pakistan strengthen its global standing and build a credible media image. He contrasted this with Indian media coverage, which he described as often deviating from factual accuracy and relying on misleading narratives, even for its domestic audience.

Senior Journalist Mazhar Javed drew historical parallels, recalling that similar patterns were seen during the 1965 war, when Indian media faced criticism for irresponsible reporting and later embarrassment. He pointed out that once again, exaggerated and emotionally charged narratives overshadowed facts in Indian coverage. In contrast, he emphasized that Pakistani media remained composed, fact-driven, and professional throughout Marka-e-Haq. He also highlighted the role of social media, maintaining that Pakistani citizens actively promoted a narrative aligned with facts, which amplified the country’s position globally and reinforced credibility in the digital space.

According to journalist Malik Arif Kalrou, Marka-e-Haq was a defining moment in which Pakistan demonstrated its strength across multiple fronts. He stated that whether on the battlefield or in information warfare, Pakistan proved itself to be a disciplined and responsible nation. In his view, this was not merely a military success but also a reflection of a mature national approach that values truth and strategic communication.

One of the most significant outcomes of this conflict was the enhancement of Pakistan’s international image, he added. Just as its armed forces were recognized for professionalism and capability, the country’s media also earned acknowledgment for credibility and ethical standards. The alignment between military success, responsible journalism, and public engagement created a unified and powerful narrative that resonated beyond borders.

Marka-e-Haq ultimately stands as an example of how modern victories are multi-dimensional, Arif added. While the armed forces secured success on the ground, the media ensured that the truth reached global audiences with clarity and impact. In an era where perception often shapes reality, Pakistan’s ability to succeed in both the physical and informational arenas reflects a broader achievement, projecting itself as a nation defined by professionalism, responsibility, and credible communication.
