
Pakistan and Azerbaijan have entered a new phase of cooperation as Airblue has launched direct flights between Lahore and Baku. The new air route marks an important step in strengthening travel and economic ties between the two countries. Officials described it as a milestone in bilateral relations.
The first flight from Lahore to Baku was warmly received upon arrival in Azerbaijan. A traditional water cannon salute was given to welcome the aircraft. The ceremony highlighted the significance of the new air connectivity between the two capitals.

Pakistan’s ambassador in Baku, Qasim Mohiuddin, attended the event and cut a celebratory cake. He said the development represents a major advancement in Pakistan-Azerbaijan relations. He also emphasized growing cooperation in multiple sectors.
The Pakistani embassy in Baku confirmed the launch of the new service. It said the direct flights reflect a new milestone in bilateral engagement. Officials added that existing airlines already operating routes include Pakistan International Airlines and Azerbaijan Airlines.

The launch is expected to boost tourism, business travel, and cultural exchange between the two countries. Both sides have recently expanded cooperation in trade, energy, and aviation. The new route further strengthens already close diplomatic relations.
