Aamir Khan praises Junaid Khan resilience in Bollywood journey

Published on: April 29, 2026 7:16 PM

Aamir Khan has praised his son Junaid Khan for his determination and independent approach to building a career in Bollywood. Speaking in a recent interview, Aamir described Junaid as a strong-willed individual who refuses to give up easily despite early challenges in the film industry. He said his son prefers to make his own decisions rather than depend on his father’s influence or reputation.

Aamir Khan referred to Junaid as a “long-distance runner” in the entertainment industry, highlighting his belief that sustained effort matters more than short-term success. He explained that both he and his son have faced similar descriptions in their early careers, where persistence and patience played a key role in growth. According to him, Junaid’s mindset reflects maturity and a clear understanding of long-term career development.

The actor further said that failures do not discourage Junaid, who instead uses setbacks as learning opportunities to improve his craft. Aamir emphasised that his son remains honest with himself and focused on continuous improvement rather than short-lived recognition. He added that such qualities are essential for surviving in a competitive industry like Bollywood, where consistency often matters more than initial success.

Junaid Khan made his acting debut with the film Maharaj, which attracted attention for his performance, although the project did not perform strongly at the box office. Despite this, he has continued working on new roles and developing his acting skills through upcoming projects. His commitment to growth has remained steady even after facing early setbacks in his career.

Aamir also praised Junaid’s dedication to his roles, noting that he avoids exaggeration and focuses on portraying characters with sincerity. He specifically mentioned the upcoming film Ek Din, stating that Junaid has stayed true to his character without attempting to make it appear overly heroic. The film is being produced under Aamir Khan Productions along with Mansoor Khan and Aparna Purohit, and is expected to deliver an emotional storytelling experience.

The film is scheduled for release on May 1, 2026, and is anticipated to showcase a softer narrative supported by music and visual storytelling. Aamir also shared personal memories from Junaid’s childhood, recalling his interest in films and action sequences, which helped shape his passion for acting. As the release approaches, attention continues to grow around Junaid’s evolving career and his efforts to establish his own identity in the industry.
