Eight people were killed and one sustained bullet injuries in a clash between two groups over a land dispute in Basti Chandia within the limits of Bahal police station on Saturday. According to a police spokesperson,the incident occurred when a long-standing land dispute between the rival groups turned violent,leading to an exchange of fire. The deceased were identified as Niazi (28), Aslam, Azhar, Wasim, Sajjad, Qadir Khan, Amanullah and Sidique while Sjaad sustained critical injuries. Police said the victims belonged to both groups involved in the dispute. IGP Abdul Kareem has taken notice of a firing incident in Basti Chandia area of Bhakkar, where eight people were killed and six others injured in a clash between two groups over a land dispute, and sought a report from the RPO Sargodha. The IGP directed the district police officer (DPO) Bhakkar to immediately arrest the accused and bring them to justice. According to a spokesperson for Punjab Police, senior police officers and forensic teams reached the scene and collected evidence, while special teams were constituted for the arrest of the accused. The spokesperson added that the deceased and the accused were relatives and the incident occurred due to a land dispute.
