Trump Claims Iran Halts Execution of Eight Women Prisoners

Published on: April 23, 2026 3:14 AM

eight women prisoners

US President Donald Trump claimed that Iran has stopped the execution of eight women prisoners after his request. He made the statement on his social media platform Truth Social. He said the Iranian government acted on his appeal. Therefore, he described the decision as a positive diplomatic outcome.

Trump stated that he was informed the executions scheduled for that night had been halted. He further claimed that four of the women would be released immediately. In addition, he said the remaining four would be freed after one month of detention. However, these claims have not been independently verified.

Moreover, Trump said he appreciated Iran’s leadership for respecting his request. He argued that the decision showed cooperation ahead of possible talks. Previously, he had posted images of the women and urged their release. Therefore, he linked the development to diplomatic engagement efforts.

However, Iranian officials rejected the claims made by the US president. They said reports of mass executions were false and misleading. According to Iranian judiciary statements, some of the women were already released. Others, they said, were facing non-capital charges if convicted.

In conclusion, Donald Trump maintained that Iran halted the executions of eight women prisoners following his intervention. Meanwhile, Iranian authorities denied the allegations and called them inaccurate. Ultimately, the situation highlights conflicting narratives between Washington and Tehran regarding human rights claims.
