Pakistan urges Lebanon ceasefire stability

Pakistan has called for an immediate end to armed activities in Lebanon, stressing that the ceasefire process is part of ongoing diplomatic negotiations. The Foreign Office said the situation is directly linked to broader regional stability efforts. The statement underscores Pakistan’s continuing role in facilitating dialogue between key international actors. The development affects peace prospects in the Middle East.

The Foreign Office spokesperson said Iran–US negotiations have continued without any breakthrough or breakdown. He described the talks as highly complex and sustained over long hours. According to him, two delegations held 21 hours of continuous discussions on sensitive issues. He added that the full engagement extended beyond 24 hours in total.

The spokesperson said Pakistan appreciates the seriousness and commitment shown by all parties involved in the talks. He noted that extended negotiations reflect strong diplomatic resolve on difficult matters. He also emphasized that Pakistan does not disclose confidential diplomatic exchanges. He said trust and secrecy remain essential for ongoing mediation efforts.

Furthermore, he said Pakistan will continue its role as a facilitator between Tehran and Washington. He added that diplomatic engagements, including high-level visits and consultations, remain part of a continuous process. He said Pakistan is also maintaining contact with friendly countries and global powers to support regional peace. He highlighted Russia and other partners as part of these consultations.

On Lebanon, the spokesperson said recent signs of reduced tensions on the Israel–Lebanon front are encouraging. He stressed that halting armed actions is necessary for long-term stability and dialogue. He added that de-escalation could support further negotiations, while nuclear discussions remain part of broader diplomatic efforts.
