Violent Night 2 brings back deadly Santa

David Harbour will return as Santa Claus in VIOLENT NIGHT 2
Violent Night 2 is set to bring back its unconventional take on holiday cheer, with David Harbour reprising his role as a battle-hardened Santa Claus in the upcoming sequel scheduled for release on December 4.

Unveiled at CinemaCon, the film continues the story with a darker twist. Santa, no longer welcome at the North Pole, finds himself navigating life in exile — this time inside a shopping mall during the holiday season. The tone remains a mix of action and dark comedy, with the character openly acknowledging his violent past in a moment that sets the stage for the chaos to follow.

The plot escalates quickly as Santa is drawn back into action after stepping in as a mall Santa, only to face new threats. Among them are his own former allies, including rogue elves, suggesting a deeper exploration of the North Pole’s internal dynamics.

Actor Jared Harris joins the cast as the film’s antagonist, adding a layer of intensity to the conflict. Meanwhile, Kristen Bell takes on the role of Mrs Claus, portrayed as a formidable and action-ready partner who plays a key role in supporting Santa during the unfolding events.

Directed once again by Tommy Wirkola, the sequel aims to expand on themes and storylines that were only briefly touched upon in the original film. Filmmakers have indicated that audiences can expect more insight into the North Pole’s structure and the characters within it.

The first installment, Violent Night, gained attention for transforming the traditional image of Santa into an action antihero. With its sequel, the franchise appears set to push that concept further, blending festive imagery with high-stakes action.
