Pakistan has urged media and observers to avoid speculation regarding the timing and details of the second round of US–Iran negotiations, saying that no official schedule has yet been announced for the next phase of talks.

Speaking at a weekly press briefing in Islamabad, Foreign Office spokesperson Tahir Hussain Andarabi said diplomatic engagements between the two sides remain sensitive and require confidentiality. He stressed that premature reporting on dates or delegations could undermine trust between parties involved in the mediation process.

The spokesperson confirmed that Pakistan continues to maintain contact with all relevant partners and remains engaged in facilitating communication between Washington and Tehran. He said that while discussions are ongoing, specific arrangements for future meetings are still being finalised through diplomatic channels.

His remarks come amid media reports suggesting that negotiating teams from the United States and Iran may return for another round of talks in Islamabad in the coming days. However, officials reiterated that no formal confirmation has been issued by any of the parties involved.

The first round of talks, hosted in Islamabad, reportedly lasted more than 20 hours and focused on complex issues including regional security concerns, energy transit routes and Iran’s nuclear programme. Although no agreement was reached, officials described the engagement as constructive and a step toward establishing direct communication channels.

The Foreign Office spokesperson said Pakistan’s role as mediator remains guided by its commitment to regional peace and stability. He added that Islamabad will continue to facilitate dialogue while keeping close coordination with both sides and other international stakeholders.

Andarabi also noted that broader regional developments, including ceasefire efforts in other conflict zones, are being viewed as part of an interconnected peace process. He emphasised that reducing tensions in one area can help create a more conducive environment for negotiations elsewhere.

Pakistan reaffirmed that its diplomatic efforts are aimed at encouraging dialogue rather than escalating speculation, and reiterated its position in favour of peaceful resolution of disputes through sustained engagement.
