
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has reaffirmed that Pakistan will continue its efforts to advance dialogue between the United States and Iran and promote lasting peace and stability in the region.

In a statement shared on social media platform X following his meeting with Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman in Jeddah, the prime minister said the two leaders held detailed discussions on matters of mutual interest and the evolving regional situation.

He reiterated Pakistan’s firm commitment to facilitating diplomatic engagement between Washington and Tehran, noting that Islamabad had already played a constructive role in supporting a ceasefire and hosting recent negotiations. The prime minister also briefed the Saudi leadership on the latest developments related to the talks and Pakistan’s ongoing mediation efforts.
Shehbaz Sharif emphasised that Pakistan remains determined to help achieve a sustainable agreement between the United States and Iran, aimed at ensuring long-term peace in the Middle East. He also expressed appreciation for Saudi Arabia’s support for Pakistan’s diplomatic initiatives.
According to an official statement issued by the Prime Minister’s Office, the meeting between the two leaders lasted nearly two hours. Both sides exchanged views on emerging regional challenges and reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening bilateral ties.

The prime minister highlighted Pakistan’s solidarity with Saudi Arabia during the current regional tensions and praised the kingdom’s leadership for demonstrating patience and restraint. He said the people of Pakistan stand shoulder to shoulder with Saudi Arabia in efforts to maintain peace and stability.

The Saudi crown prince, in turn, appreciated Pakistan’s constructive role in the peace process, including the contributions of its leadership in facilitating dialogue. Both sides also agreed to further enhance cooperation in defence, security and economic sectors, while continuing close coordination on regional developments.
