Sindh Senior Minister and Provincial Minister for Information, Transport and Mass Transit, Sharjeel Inam Memon, has said that politicizing natural disasters is regrettable. He stated that “peak load pressure” is an inevitable reality during unusual rainfall or sudden intensification of weather conditions, from which no major city in the world is completely immune.
In a statement, he said that there is a natural time required for water flow and drainage, and complete drainage is not possible anywhere.
He added that during ongoing rains, some elements emerge solely for criticism, which is not only unnecessary but also negatively affects the morale of public service institutions.
Senior Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon said that temporary water accumulation during heavy rainfall is normal even in developed countries; however, the relevant institutions are working continuously to normalize the situation.
He stressed that individuals and institutions providing services during natural disasters should be encouraged rather than criticized.
He said that the Sindh government is using all resources to address the problems faced by the citizens, unity is the best solution in difficult times and the public should not pay attention to misleading propaganda.
