Security forces conducted two separate operations in Pakistan’s Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, killing a total of 13 militants, according to an official statement released by the military’s media wing.

The Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said the operations were carried out in the areas of Bara and Bannu as part of ongoing efforts to eliminate militant threats. In the first operation, which was intelligence-based, security forces targeted militant hideouts in Bara. During the exchange of fire, 10 militants were killed.

In a separate operation in the Bannu district, security personnel engaged militants in a gun battle, resulting in the deaths of three more individuals described as “khawarij” by the military. The term is often used by authorities to refer to members of extremist groups involved in attacks against security forces and civilians.

According to the ISPR, these operations were conducted following credible intelligence regarding the presence and movement of militants in the respective areas. Weapons and ammunition were also reportedly recovered from the sites, indicating the militants’ involvement in previous acts of violence.

The military emphasized that clearance operations are ongoing in both regions to ensure that any remaining threats are neutralized. Security forces remain committed to maintaining peace and stability in the province, which has witnessed a rise in militant activity in recent months.

Officials reiterated that such actions are part of a broader counterterrorism strategy aimed at dismantling militant networks and preventing future attacks. They also reaffirmed the resolve of Pakistan’s armed forces to continue operations until all threats to national security are eliminated.
