Balochistan Security Operations Kill 700 Militants

Balochistan security operations killed more than 700 militants this year, officials said Sunday. Authorities said forces conducted 78,000 intelligence-based operations across the province. These actions aimed to curb rising militant violence. Officials shared details during a press conference in Quetta.

Meanwhile, officials confirmed heavy losses during the year. About 202 security personnel and 280 civilians died in attacks. However, authorities said better planning reduced overall attacks. Still, militants continued targeting civilians.

Officials also highlighted key counterterrorism gains. The government designated the Balochistan Liberation Army and Majeed Brigade as terrorist groups. Authorities plan to seek Interpol help against militants abroad. They called this step a major success.

Separately, police confirmed progress in major cases. Officials said Ziarat’s kidnapped assistant commissioner was killed, and searches continue for his body. Authorities also arrested three suspects for killing a Kharan police officer. Investigators said the suspects confessed on video.

Finally, officials announced fresh funding for security forces. The federal government released Rs10 billion under the NFC award. This money will strengthen police, CTD, and highways. Authorities said Balochistan security operations will continue aggressively.
