According to sources, the meeting will be attended by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, senior federal ministers, provincial chief ministers, and top military officials, including Army Chief Asim Munir. The gathering underscores the seriousness of the regional situation and its implications for Pakistan.

Participants will review the ongoing tensions involving Iran, the United States, and Israel, as well as the broader impact of attacks affecting Gulf countries. The meeting will also evaluate the progress made so far in diplomatic efforts and Pakistan’s possible role as a mediator.

Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar is expected to brief attendees on the recent four-nation foreign ministers’ meeting and ongoing diplomatic engagements. Discussions will also focus on domestic preparedness, including the country’s petroleum reserves and supply chain stability amid disruptions linked to the Strait of Hormuz.

In addition, the meeting will review austerity measures aimed at managing economic pressures caused by rising global fuel prices. Sources indicate that proposals to provide subsidies for motorcycle and rickshaw drivers may also be considered to ease the burden on low-income groups.

The session reflects Pakistan’s efforts to balance its domestic economic concerns with its growing diplomatic role in addressing regional instability, as policymakers seek both immediate relief measures and long-term solutions.
