
Shehbaz Sharif has reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to facilitating dialogue between the Iran and the United States (US), stressing the urgent need to end ongoing hostilities in the region.

The prime minister expressed these views during a meeting in Islamabad with Hakan Fidan and Badr Abdelatty. He emphasized Pakistan’s readiness to play a constructive and positive role in bringing both sides to the negotiating table.
Sharif highlighted Pakistan’s ongoing diplomatic outreach and called for collective international efforts to de-escalate tensions. He noted that continued conflict is causing significant loss of life, economic damage, and destruction across not only Iran but also several other countries in the region.

The meeting was attended by senior Pakistani officials, including Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar, National Security Adviser Asim Malik, and Foreign Secretary Amna Baloch.
During the discussions, the prime minister conveyed his best wishes to Recep Tayyip Erdogan and Abdel Fattah el-Sisi, recalling his recent interactions with both leaders. He reiterated that dialogue and diplomacy remain the only viable solutions to prevent further escalation.
The visiting foreign ministers shared their respective countries’ perspectives on the ongoing Middle East tensions and expressed support for peaceful resolution efforts. They praised Pakistan’s proactive diplomatic engagement and commended the leadership of Sharif, Ishaq Dar, and Army Chief Asim Munir during the crisis.
