A shipment of 12 tonnes of KitKat chocolate has been stolen in Europe, raising supply concerns. The missing cargo—over 413,000 chocolate bars—was en route from Italy to Poland. Nestlé warns the loss could disrupt shelves just ahead of Easter.
The truck carrying the new KitKat range disappeared last week while transporting chocolate across multiple European countries. Authorities are investigating the incident with logistics partners, but the shipment and vehicle remain unaccounted for. Nestlé described the theft as a “brazen heist.”

The company warned that the stolen chocolate may enter unofficial sales channels, raising concerns about grey-market distribution. Each bar carries a unique batch code to help retailers and consumers verify authenticity and track the missing cargo.
Nestlé joked that thieves may have “taken the message too literally” from the brand’s famous slogan encouraging people to take a break with KitKat. The loss is expected to affect supply chains during a key chocolate-buying period.
