Pakistan’s petrol pump owners have threatened to shut down stations nationwide if their concerns remain unresolved. The warning matters as a closure could trigger a severe fuel crisis across the country. The move directly affects millions of consumers, transporters, and businesses dependent on fuel supply.
The All Pakistan Petrol Pump Owners Association said it has sought an urgent meeting with Petroleum Minister Ali Pervaiz Malik. The association claimed it had sent a similar request earlier this month but received no response. Officials stressed the need for immediate dialogue to prevent escalation of the situation.

Moreover, the association highlighted multiple challenges facing the petroleum retail sector. These include operational difficulties, financial pressures, fluctuating prices, and sudden policy changes. It urged the government to include industry stakeholders in policymaking to ensure stability and sustainability.

The association said around 14,000 to 15,000 petrol pump owners are facing serious issues requiring urgent attention. It warned that failure to address these concerns could force operators to halt services nationwide. Such a move would disrupt fuel distribution and impact daily economic activity.
