Jemima asks PM to let Imran’s sons meet him

Published on: March 17, 2026 1:57 AM

Jemima Goldsmith on Monday made a direct appeal to Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif to allow her sons, Suleiman Khan and Kasim Khan, to meet their father Imran Khan, who is currently imprisoned at Adiala Jail.

In a post on X, Jemima said her sons had applied for Pakistani visas in January but had not received them even after 60 days, despite the Pakistan consulate stating that visa processing normally takes 7–10 working days. She said the delay had prevented them from seeing their father for years.

Jemima added that Suleiman and Kasim had not been allowed to speak to Imran Khan by phone or send him letters and had not seen him since 2022, when he was injured in an assassination attempt. She urged the prime minister to allow the meeting as soon as possible, particularly given reports about Imran Khan’s declining health.

Meanwhile, Pakistan’s Information Minister Attaullah Tarar said there were “more important issues in the world” when asked for a government response to the appeal.

The issue of visas for Imran Khan’s sons has been debated for months, with government officials previously saying they could visit Pakistan as long as they did not participate in protests or political activities.
