A meeting of the parliamentary party was held under the chairmanship of Pakistan Peoples Party Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari.
President Asif Ali Zardari, First Lady Aseefa Bhutto Zardari, and PPP Women’s Wing Central President Faryal Talpur attended the meeting.
Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah, PPP Sindh President Nisar Khuhro, along with all cabinet members and PPP members of the Sindh Assembly, also attended the meeting. “We are continuing the mission of Quaid-e-Awam Shaheed Zulfikar Ali Bhutto and Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto,” said President Asif Ali Zardari.
“These are times of war-like conditions; we need to remain united,” said President Asif Ali Zardari. President Asif Ali Zardari expressed confidence in the Sindh Chief Minister and his cabinet.
“You and your team are doing very good work,” President Asif Ali Zardari said while speaking to the Sindh Chief Minister.
“Continue the momentum of your good work,” President Asif Ali Zardari told the Sindh Chief Minister.
President Asif Ali Zardari directed members of the Sindh Assembly to continue serving the public. “Even in difficult circumstances, as much relief as possible should be provided to the people,” said Asif Ali Zardari.
“There are war-like conditions in the world right now; in such circumstances all politicians should be on the same page,” said Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari.
“I am satisfied with the performance of the Pakistan Peoples Party’s Sindh government,” said Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari.
“Despite the challenges, the way the Sindh Chief Minister defends the province’s case is commendable,” said Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari. “We are not those who ignite fires but those who extinguish them; criticizing those confronting a tragedy is incomprehensible,” said Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari regarding the Gul Plaza incident.
“Mayor Murtaza Wahab is intolerable for some people because they do not want a ‘Jiyala’ (PPP loyalist) mayor in the capital of Sindh,” said Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari. “I am satisfied with Mayor Murtaza Wahab’s performance; development work in Karachi will begin soon,” said Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari.
“The Sindh government and the Karachi Metropolitan Corporation will respond to propaganda through their performance,” said Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari.
Separately, Bilawal Bhutto Zardari expressed satisfaction with the performance of the Sindh government during a parliamentary party meeting chaired by him on Sunday. Speaking to lawmakers, Bilawal Bhutto said that despite challenges, the Sindh Chief Minister and his cabinet were handling the province’s affairs commendably and that development work in Karachi would soon resume.
Bilawal emphasized that the party’s focus is on solving problems rather than creating conflict, adding that criticism of officials managing crises, such as the Gul Plaza incident, was “incomprehensible.” He also defended Mayor Murtaza Wahab, stating that some opposition to him in Karachi is politically motivated and reiterating confidence in his performance.
The meeting, also attended by President of Pakistan Asif Ali Zardari, PPP co-chairperson Faryal Talpur, and other senior party leaders, focused on unity and governance amid global and domestic challenges.
Asif Ali Zardari praised the Chief Minister and his cabinet for their dedication, urging them to continue delivering relief and public services even under difficult circumstances. Bilawal Bhutto stressed the need for all politicians to remain on the same page during turbulent times globally, highlighting the importance of cohesion within the party. He assured that both the Sindh government and Karachi Metropolitan Corporation would respond to any propaganda with tangible performance and results.
