Published on: March 11, 2026 12:55 AM

A meeting of officers from various departments was held in the Darbar Hall of the Deputy Commissioner Office Larkana on Tuesday under the chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner (DC) Larkana Dr Sharjeel Noor Channa, in which arrangements for the 47th death anniversary of former Prime Minister of Pakistan Shaheed Zulfikar Ali Bhutto, who gave the country its Constitution and made Pakistan a nuclear power, to be observed on April 4, 2026, were reviewed.

While addressing the meeting, he said that this meeting was being held in connection with April 4 to ensure that people coming to attend the anniversary are provided with complete facilities. In this regard, some institutions will perform their duties inside the mausoleum while others will carry out responsibilities outside. He further said that cooperation from Local Government, Town Committees, and other institutions is required, and responsibilities have been assigned to them so that no negligence occurs during the anniversary.

He further said that to control traffic and ensure the proper use of routes for incoming and outgoing vehicles, responsibilities have been assigned to the traffic police and rescue teams. Planning has also been made for vehicle parking. In addition, walk-through gates will be installed and foolproof security arrangements will be ensured.

He said that the Works and Services Department should also complete the repair of roads so that there is no difficulty for incoming and outgoing traffic. He further directed the District Roads Department to complete the work on the helipad, and instructions in this regard have also been issued to the Executive Engineer (Roads) Ratodero.

During the meeting, he further said that water plants will also be installed to provide clean and cold drinking water to the people attending the anniversary. He directed SEPCO officials to ensure an uninterrupted electricity supply during the anniversary and to arrange standby generators as well. He instructed health department officials to establish a medical camp at the mausoleum in collaboration with PPHI and ensure the availability of doctors and medicines. He also directed forest department officials to assign a team to take care of the plants there. Moreover, the District Police, Rangers, and Special Branch personnel will also perform their duties diligently.

On this occasion, the Special Assistant to the Chief Minister of Sindh, Khair Muhammad Sheikh, while addressing the meeting, said that the points presented are very important. However, along with this, the Buildings Department should repair the parks there, and the Forest Department should also plant more trees. He said that the route of the Rice Canal should be corrected and the roads passing alongside it should be repaired.
