The Islamabad High Court (IHC) on Wednesday disposed of the case on the report submitted on the payment of judicial allowances to the employees of special courts and tribunals on the court order.

During the hearing, the implementation report was presented to the court by the Accountant General Office.Asif Gujjar Advocate said that in the light of the court instructions, the judicial allowance has been added to the salaries of the employees.

The allowances will not be stopped until the decision of the case is made in the Supreme Court. The case will be heard on a daily basis in the Federal Constitutional Bench.

Justice Arbab Muhammad Tahir told the government lawyer that he has to go to the Supreme Court now and get his cases fixed. He has to get the cases fixed and their decisions taken. The court disposed of the contempt of court petition after the court orders were implemented.

The Islamabad High Court sought arguments after the Higher Education Commission (HEC) submitted its response to a petition regarding the promotion of teachers of various universities. Justice Mohsin Akhtar Kayani heard the case.

During the hearing, the HEC presented a policy report on the promotion of BPS teachers in the court. After the HEC report, the court sought arguments from the petitioner’s lawyer on the next hearing.

During the hearing, the court expressed its displeasure over the video recording by petitioner with a mobile phone and the court staff took the mobile phone from the concerned person and took it into their possession.

Justice Mohsin Akhtar Kayani asked who you are and what you are doing, to which the citizen who was recording the video said that I am a teacher.

Justice Mohsin Akhtar Kayani said that you need to be more careful. We do not allow video recording in the court. The result of live streaming of cases has been very negative. There is a different atmosphere in TV and films. The petitioner said I apologize, there was a mistake.” The petitioner’s lawyer said, I also apologize on his behalf.”

Justice Kayani said that these are teachers. I don’t want to say anything to them myself. The court accepted the apology of the person who recorded the video.

After the HEC report, the court asked the petitioner’s lawyer to present arguments at the next hearing and adjourned the further hearing of the case until after Eid.

The Islamabad High Court fixed March 16, a date for hearing the case related to the quota system in recruitment of Islamabad Police and other institutions. The Registrar’s Office has issued a cause list for scheduling the case for hearing.

A three-member larger bench, headed by Chief Justice Sarfaraz Dogar will hear the case on March 16. Justice Khadim Hussain Soomro and Justice Inaam Ameen Minhas will join the bench.

The Islamabad High Court has issued a stay order on recruitment based on the Islamabad quota system. A petition was filed against the quota system in Islamabad Police, Health and other sectors up to BPS 15 with the stand that all seats should be given to Islamabad domicile holders.
