
The United Arab Emirates announced it will not allow its airspace to be used for attacks on Iran, officials said Tuesday. UAE authorities emphasized protecting national sovereignty while condemning rising regional tensions. The decision follows escalating Iranian missile and drone strikes targeting U.S. and Israeli assets across the Gulf.
Minister of State for International Cooperation Reem Al Hashimi said the UAE recognizes Iran’s ballistic missile program as a regional threat but stressed military solutions would harm the Gulf. She added that the UAE retains full right to defend itself if necessary.

Following recent Iranian attacks, the UAE closed its embassy in Tehran and recalled its ambassador, signaling growing diplomatic strain between the two nations. Officials noted that while diplomacy remains a priority, the UAE is prepared to respond to security threats.
UAE defense authorities stated the armed forces are in full combat readiness and will protect the nation’s territorial integrity under any circumstances. Officials reiterated that the country will not compromise on sovereignty or national security.
