Deputy Prime Minister / Foreign Minister, Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar on Monday met Ambassador of China to Pakistan Jiang Zaidong. Discussions were held on the evolving regional situation and broader developments. DPM/FM emphasized the importance of dialogue, diplomacy, and continued consultations. He reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to peace and stability in the region and beyond. DPM/ FM Ishaq Dar spoke with EU High Representative/Vice President Kaja Kallas. They expressed deep concern on the recent regional developments in Iran and the wider Middle East. DPM/FM underscored the need for dialogue, diplomacy, and de-escalation. DPM/FM also briefed the High Representative on Pakistan-Afghanistan tensions and appreciated the EU’s constructive engagement. Both sides agreed to maintain close contact on the evolving regional situation. Speaking to members of diplomatic corps based in Islamabad, he said Pakistan was making all diplomatic efforts to de-escalate the situation. “We are passing through difficult times in terms of diplomacy,” he added. He said, “All our efforts are focused on reducing tensions and bringing the parties back to the negotiations.”
