PM vows justice after Islamabad attack as global support grows

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has strongly condemned the deadly suicide attack in Islamabad and vowed to bring all those responsible to justice without delay. In a public message, he thanked friendly nations and global leaders for their solidarity during this painful time. Moreover, he said such attacks would never weaken Pakistan’s resolve against terrorism. He stressed that the nation remains determined to defeat extremist forces through unity and strength.

The prime minister said Pakistan deeply values the messages of sympathy received from around the world after the heartbreaking incident. He added that international support and cooperation have always played a crucial role in Pakistan’s long struggle against terrorism. Furthermore, he emphasized that the attackers’ malicious goals would never succeed. He urged citizens to stand together and reject fear in the face of violence.

The suicide bombing took place on Friday at a mosque in the Tarlai area of Islamabad during Friday prayers. According to officials, the attacker detonated himself at the entrance gate when security tried to stop him. As a result, at least 33 people lost their lives, while 169 others sustained injuries. Authorities declared emergencies at major hospitals to treat the wounded.

Security agencies launched a full investigation immediately after the attack, while senior officials reviewed safety measures across the capital. Meanwhile, the government assured families of the victims that justice would be served without compromise. Officials also vowed to strengthen intelligence coordination to prevent similar incidents. Consequently, security has been heightened at sensitive locations nationwide.

Several countries strongly condemned the attack, calling it a heinous act against innocent worshippers and places of worship. The United States, United Kingdom, Saudi Arabia, Turkey, Iran, Russia, Australia, and Germany expressed condolences and solidarity. They reiterated firm opposition to terrorism in all forms and circumstances. Their statements highlighted global concern over violence targeting civilians.

As Pakistan mourns the victims, leaders emphasized national unity as the strongest response to terrorism. The government called on citizens to remain resilient and support state efforts to ensure lasting peace. At the same time, international messages of support reinforced Pakistan’s global partnerships. The tragedy has once again underscored the urgent need to defeat extremism together.
